Many people start counselling feeling really nervous about what is expected from them in a session. Sometimes even that first step of sending an email is really hard.

Once you have made contact. I then ask if you would like to have a 15 minute chat to talk about counselling and available session times. You can then decide what you would like to do.

The first session is more of an assessment, to get to know you and your struggles. We will discuss the contract, about confidentiality limitations, boundaries, what has brought you to counselling and there will be a chance for you to ask any questions you may have. It is also gives me a chance to ask questions and make sure I am the right counsellor for your presenting issues.

A counselling session provides you with a safe and confidential space to begin talking about the issues that are troubling you.

Sessions are online or via telephone, and are 50 minutes long. These tend to be weekly but some people start weekly, then they might go to fortnightly, when counselling is coming to an end.
