Many people start counselling feeling really nervous about what is expected from them in a session. Sometimes even that first step of sending an email is really hard.

Once you have made contact. I usually see if you would like to have a 10 minute chat then you can decide if you would like to book a session with me.

The first session is more of an assessment to get to know you. We will discuss the contract, about confidentiality limitations, boundaries, what has brought you to counselling and there will be a chance for you to ask any questions you may have. It is also gives me a chance to ask questions and make sure I am the right counsellor for your presenting issues.

A counselling session provides you with a safe and confidential space to begin talking about the issues that are troubling you.

Sessions are online or via telephone, and are 50 minutes long. These tend to be weekly but some people start weekly, then they might go to fortnightly, when counselling is coming to an end.
